Earth Month Activities

Earth Month Activities

April is Earth Month, and we're already gearing up for a busy one! Come join us as we celebrate with events all throughout the month. Note that none of these activities will alter our regular shop hours (Friday, 3-6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.).

Get Down & Get Dirty
April 5, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Join the Full Circle/Washburn Ecobods team for Keep America Beautiful's annual community cleanup. Meet at our shop. Bring gloves, a refillable water bottle, and any tools you'd like to use to pick up trash, such as a poker or grabber. Trash bags will be provided, but feel encouraged to bring any extra bags you have around to limit the use of new plastic bags. Lunch will be provided afterward. Be sure to bring your own plate and utensils to help ensure we're not creating extra waste with the meal.

Topeka Common Ground Conference
April 12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Learn about sustainable gardening methods at this full-day conference, which includes a presentation from Full Circle. Find out more and register here

Topeka Sustainability Advisory Board Annual Report at City Council Meeting
April 15, 6 p.m.

Show up to show the City Council that you support sustainability efforts in Topeka! The Topeka Sustainability Advisory Board will be presenting its annual report to the City Council at its April 15th meeting. The presentation will be near the top of the agenda, so you don't need to stick around afterward. Simply stand up when asked during the presentation so the Council can see how many sustainability supporters Topeka has! For extra impact, wear a green shirt if you have one. The meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers at 214 E 8th St. (the municipal court building/TPAC).
If you cannot attend the meeting (or even if you can), consider providing a letter of support using our simple form, available here.

Earth Day at the Zoo
April 19, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Stop by the shop, then join us and other environmental organizations at the Topeka Zoo
for the city's biggest Earth Day party!
